ST LOUIS: The India Association of St Louis (IAS) celebrated Diwali on Sunday, November 22 in a spectacular way at Mahatma Gandhi Centre in St Louis, MO.

More than 300 people attended the event. There were a wide range of cultural programs performed by local talent. Colorful decorations and lighting arrangements set the festive mood for the audience.

Dressed in attires reflecting Indian culture and tradition, artists presented programs which drew huge applause from the audience. Stage decoration and various types of cultural programs presented to reflect Indian culture and tradition were the highlights of the event.

President Sharath Rao reminded everyone of the marvelous successes of the past IAS events in both cultural and social service programs and laid out IAS’ plans for 2016. He praised and thanked the parents and kids who were actively engaged in social service programs this year.

President-Elect Meera Jain and Secretary Shailee Saran Varanasi played a key role in conducting the event successfully. Board of Directors Sendil Rathinasabapathy and Krishna Rao Moharir efficiently handled the technical audio-visual and electronic communications, respectively while Cultural Coordinator Gayatri Chintakunta coordinated the cultural events. All the participants were awarded IAS certificates.
Delicious Indian dinner satisfied the taste buds of everyone. The event ended with kids enjoying the sparklers. The board of India Association extended thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and attendees to make it a grand successful event.
